$56 ‘Fubo Sports’ Goes Live, But Major Markets Not Available

The less expensive Fubo Sports package jumped into the streaming wars today. The price is $55.99/month, but subscribers get $10 off their first month. Here’s everything you need to know.

Where Is Fubo Sports Available?

Fubo hasn’t provided a list, but I can verify the service is available in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Philadelphia, Miami, Minneapolis, Denver, Detroit, Baltimore, Bridgeport, Wilmington, Santa Clara, Cheyenne, and Pocatello.

Fubo Sports is not available in:

  • Houston
  • Washington, D.C.
  • Boston
  • Phoenix
  • Seattle
  • Minneapolisโ€“St. Paul
  • Denver
  • Portland, OR
  • Charlotte
  • Indianapolis
  • Nashville
  • Salt Lake City
  • Kansas City
  • Milwaukee

What Channels Are Included in Fubo Sports?

  • ABC
  • CBS
  • FOX
  • ESPN
  • ESPN2
  • ESPNEWS
  • ESPNU
  • ACC Network
  • SEC Network
  • Fubo Sports Network
  • FS1
  • FS2
  • Fox News
  • Big 10 Network (and alternates 2-4)
  • NFL Network
  • Tennis Channel
  • ION
  • CBS Sports Network

Importantly, you cannot access NBC. If you want Fubo Sports and NBC, sign up for Peacock Premium Plus.

You can add add-ons that include NFL RedZone, MLB Network, and other sports channels. The price for these add-ons is not provided in a way I can access them, but I’m guessing it’s still the Sports Plus add-on price of $10.99. I’m working to clarify this, but Fubo has not responded to my emails.

If you live in the broadcast area of these teams, you will get the channels that provide your local games:

  • Florida Panthers (NHL)
  • Portland Trailblazers (NBA)
  • Tampa Bay Lightning (NHL)
  • Utah Jazz (NBA)
  • Utah Mammoth (NHL)
  • Vegas Golden Knights (NHL)

This package will include access to the newly-launched ESPN Unlimited.

What Are the Fubo Sports Features?

Fubo Sports users will have access to features like Multiview, Catch Up to Live, Game Highlights, Timeline Markers, and more.

Fubo Sports will include VOD, Unlimited DVR and Family Share.

Should You Sign Up for Fubo Sports?

The first hurdle is to see if you can access the service in your area. If so, it’s a nice lineup, but it’s still missing some crucial channels. The lack of NBC may be a big problem. If you need NBC, there’s an easy workaround if you sign up for Peacock Premium Plus.

$16.99/mo.

The closest competitor to this package may be DIRECTV‘s MySports package for $69.99. But that sports bundle includes Golf Channel, MLB Network, NBA TV, NHL Network, CNN, CNBC, TBS, TNT, and truTV.

If you have an antenna that can access your local channels, choosing the bundle of FOX One and ESPN Unlimited ($39.99) basically gives you the same channels this Fubo Sports package offers at a lower price. That bundle price won’t be available until Oct. 2, however. If you need NFL RedZone, NFL+ Premium may be the way to go.
