MSNBC Becomes MS NOW – What You Need to Know
When you flip on your TV today, you won’t find MSNBC. After a 30-year run, the channel is changing its name to MS NOW. The change should be automatic in your channel guide – you’ll just see the new name where MSNBC used to be.
Why Did the Name Change?
MSNBC was always the cable outlet affiliated with NBC. But NBCUniversal dumped most of its cable channels to a new company called Versant. Because the new company has no partnership with NBC, they needed to shed those letters from the name.
“MS NOW” stands for “My Source: News Opinion World.”
Are There Any Other Changes?
You won’t see Steve Kornacki on the channel anymore – he’s sticking with the NBC crew. “Morning Joe” will no longer broadcast from 30 Rockefeller Plaza.
The channel is partnering with AccuWeather for forecasts and weather coverage.
But for the most part, the channel will seem the same as it always has been, just with a different brand.

Watching MS NOW with Sling TV
Sling TV is a strong choice for MS NOW. Choose the Sling Blue or Orange + Blue package to access MS NOW. These options aren’t quite as cheap as the DIRECTV genre packs, but they’re more affordable than all your other options.

Watching MS NOW with Fubo
We don’t normally recommend Fubo because its price is outrageous compared to its competitors. The channel lineup has some giant holes. Still, you can get MS NOW with the following packages: Pro ($100.98) and Elite ($110.98).
$89.98/mo.
Watching MS NOW with Hulu + Live TV
Hulu + Live TV might be the best value in live TV streaming. Not only do you get a generous channel lineup, you also get free Disney+, ESPN Unlimited, and Hulu on-demand. It’s a great package for families. Many users complain about the clunky interface. Still, it’s a ton of entertainment for a fair price and you will be able to stream MS NOW.

$89.99/mo.
Includes FREE Disney+, ESPN Unlimited, and Hulu on-demand

Watching MS NOW with YouTube TV
YouTube TV is quickly becoming a dinosaur in the live TV streaming world. It was my go-to solution for several years, but I dropped it as the price climbed and the channel lineup remained stale. It’s about the same price as Hulu + Live TV but without the free streaming services. YouTube TV does carry MS NOW.
$82.99/mo.
