March Madness Live app

Should You Watch the NCAA Tournament on the March Madness Live App?

As the nation’s college basketball teams chase down One Shining Moment, there’s a little-known app that may give you the best viewing experience available. It’s called March Madness Live. The app is free and it has lots of great features, but there is a catch:

You will need another live TV provider to be able to watch live games on the app.

March Madness Live Features

If you sign in with another live TV provider’s credentials, you’ll unlock all the app’s features.

Watch live games. If your TV provider has CBS, TNT, TBS, and truTV (like DIRECTV or Hulu + Live TV), you’ll get access to all the games within the app.

With the fast break feature, you’ll get whip-around coverage of every game, including as many as 4 games on one screen.

Follow action from your lock screen. Need a casual way to keep tabs on the games without watching a video feed? You can get live game updates just by glancing at your phone or tablet, even when locked.

See classic games and clips. The March Madness Live app gives you access to some of the greatest moments in college basketball history, even without connecting a live TV provider.

Compete in a bracket challenge against your friends. Keep tabs on your brackets against your friends as long as you’re all signed up through the app.

When it comes to watching the tournament alone, I think the March Madness Live app is a better option than relying strictly on your TV app.

Which Live TV Streamers Work Best with March Madness Live?

To access all the games, you’ll need a provider that includes CBS, TNT, truTV, and TBS. That rules out Sling TV (missing CBS), Fubo (missing all but CBS), and Philo and Frndly TV (missing all sports channels).

That leaves us with 3 options: DIRECTV, YouTube TV, and Hulu + Live TV.
