Predators NHL Games to Be Free Over-the-Air Starting Next Season, New Streamer to Come
With the demise of FanDuel Sports regional channels, NHL, MLB, and NBA teams are scrambling to find their new TV homes. For the Nashville Predators, Scripps is stepping in to provide free broadcasts over-the-air.
Starting with the 2026โ27 NHL season, Predators games that don’t appear on national broadcasts will air on WNPX, which will be rebranded โThe Spot โ Nashville 28โ this summer.
If you’d like to watch the games, all you’ll need is an antenna.

Scripps will look to partner with other broadcasters through the Predsโ five-state viewing territory of Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi and Georgia for distribution of the full-season of Predators games in each local market. More details on how and where to watch will be provided on the teamโs website before the start of the 2026-27 season this fall.
Scripps also announced it will build out a new direct-to-consumer streaming app for fans who live in the area.
This follows the blueprint from the Tampa Bay Lightning, who broke away to a Scripps station (also nicknamed The Spot) last summer. Scripps also manages the broadcasts for the Vegas Golden Knights, Florida Panthers, and Utah Mammoth.
Assuming the Predators track the other Scripps NHL teams, you can expect their new streaming platform to cost $66-69.99/season.
If you live outside the Predators’ local viewing area, the antenna and the streaming app can’t help you. You’ll need ESPN Select to watch all the out-of-market games.
