CNBC+ Offers Live Streaming of Financial News for $14.99 – Is It Worth It?

One of the great frustrations of TV viewership in 2025 is that we often end up paying for channels we don’t want. Some providers like DIRECTV STREAM are fighting this with smaller channel bundles at more reasonable prices. But we’re about to see more streaming options for standalone channels, and CNBC+ is among the first to try this model. You can stream live CNBC with this service for $14.99/month, but I don’t recommend it.

What is CNBC+?

CNBC+ is an app that provides a live stream of the linear CNBC channel. Users can make watchlists and watch full episodes on-demand. Investors can enjoy advanced charting and get a market data stream.

Unfortunately, CNBC+ is only available on cnbc.com, Apple TV, Roku, and iOS/Android apps.

What Other Options Exist to Stream CNBC?

DIRECTV STREAM offers CNBC with MyEntertainment ($34.99/mo.), MyNews ($39.99/mo.), MySports ($69.99/mo.), and all its main channel packages ($86.99+).

You can watch CNBC with Sling TV as long as your base package includes Sling Blue ($45.99/mo.). Then you’d pay another $6/mo. for News Extra.

YouTube TV and Hulu + Live TV offer CNBC in their base packages ($82.99/mo.).

Fubo has CNBC in all its packages ($100.98+/mo.).

Philo and Frndly TV do not offer CNBC.

Considering how many channels you get with one of DIRECTV STREAM’s genre packs, that’s a much more cost-effective strategy than choosing CNBC+.

Can You Watch CNBC for Free?

Yes! Simply sign up for any live TV service that offers a free trial: DIRECTV STREAM, Hulu + Live TV, YouTube TV, or Fubo.

It’s not live, but another option is to check YouTube for CNBC clips. The channel frequently uploads throughout the day.

The Internet Archive also hosts many full shows from CNBC, but you’re not watching in real time.

What’s the Best Way to Watch CNBC?

If you have to have CNBC, choosing a live TV provider is your best bet. DIRECTV STREAM offers 7 different channel packages with the channel, making it the most versatile and least expensive way to watch.

CNBC+ is a nice idea, but $14.99 for one channel is a terrible value. Unless you’re a single-minded stock trader who hates the idea of other channels, I don’t understand why you’d subscribe.
