YouTube TV to Add 2 New Channels

Good news for YouTube TV subscribers: you’re getting two new channels.

Bad news for YouTube TV: those channels kinda suck.

Today, Sinclair Broadcasting offered its quarterly earnings report and it noted the company struck a distribution agreement with YouTube TV to continue carriage of Tennis Channel, TennisChannel 2, CHARGE!, Comet, and ROAR. The agreement also added carriage of The Nest and PickleBall TV.

The Nest replaced Stadium network. The company says it’s focused on “comfort food TV, comprised of reality series and celebrity driven family shows.” The current lineup includes “City Confidential,” “Only in America with Larry the Cable Guy,” “Dog the Bounty Hunter,” “Ice Road Truckers,” “Cajun Pawn Stars,” “Cold Case Files,” and “Marcia Clark Investigates the First 48.”

PickleBall TV offers wall-to-wall pickleball coverage with lots of matches and shows to help players improve their game.

Those channels are not on YouTube TV currently. We don’t know when they may go live.

YouTube TV is the most popular live TV streaming service in the United States, but we don’t recommend it here at Streaming Smarter. It continues to raise its price while not offering the benefits of its competitors. DIRECTV offers far more channels and multiple channel packages, including cheaper options. Sling TV also offers inexpensive channel bundles. Hulu + Live TV is the same price as YouTube TV, but you also get free Disney+, ESPN+, and Hulu on-demand.
