Paramount+ Ditches ‘SHOWTIME’ Label for Ad-Free Tier
If you have the ad-free Paramount+ plan, it now has a new name. The awkwardly-named “Paramount+ with SHOWTIME” is being renamed “Paramount+ Premium.” That reverts the ad-free plan to its old name.
The rebranded name is not only easier to say, it’s also more descriptive of the service. Even ad-supported Paramount+ plans get access to some SHOWTIME shows, so it was incorrect to suggest that those shows were only part of the ad-free tier.

What we don’t know is what will become of the channel previously known as “SHOWTIME” and now called “Paramount+ with SHOWTIME.” If I had to guess, it may revert to “SHOWTIME.”
Paramount killed off the standalone SHOWTIME streaming service on April 30, 2024, folding it into the Paramount+ streaming ecosystem.
