YouTube TV Alerts Customers They May Lose Fox Stations
Nearly every year, TV networks use their NFL rights to extract ever-higher fees from live TV providers. They like to wait until the start of the NFL season when many fans restart their TV subscriptions after taking the summer off. Now, YouTube TV is alerting its customers they may lose all Fox-related networks, including FOX, Fox News, Big Ten Network, FS1, and FS2.
Here’s the email sent to YouTube TV subscribers this evening:
In order to provide you with the best in live sports, news, and entertainment, YouTube TV enters into partnerships with content providers like Fox. Our current agreement with Fox is approaching its renewal date, and we are in active negotiations to continue carrying their content. Our priority is to reach a deal thatโs fair for both sides, as well as our subscribers.โ
We want to be transparent about these discussions: if we are unable to reach an agreement with Fox by August 27, 2025, their content may become unavailable. If this happens, this will impact channels like the Fox Broadcast Network, Fox News, and Fox Sports, as well as any Library recordings you have from these channels.โ
We know how frustrating it is to lose channels, which is why itโs our goal to keep Fox on YouTube TV. Weโre committed to continuing to work with Fox to reach an agreement, but if their content becomes unavailable for an extended period of time, we’ll offer our subscribers a $10 credit.
If Fox becomes unavailable, you can continue to watch their sports, news, and shows by signing up for Fox One. For more information on the impact to our Spanish Plus, 4K, Sports Plus, and Fox Nation add-ons, please visit our Help Center.โ
We hope YouTube TV continues to be your service of choice, but we understand some of our members may want to cancel their subscriptions. As always, family managers have the ability to pause or cancel anytime.โ
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to advocate on behalf of our subscribers and work towards an agreement with Fox. We will continue to update our Help Center with the latest. As always, we sincerely appreciate your YouTube TV membership.โSincerely,
The YouTube TV team
Historically, these outages are short-lived, and YouTube TV will likely forge a deal with Fox just before the NFL season begins. On rare occasions, subscribers may miss a week or two of the NFL season before the sides come to an agreement.
Watching FOX with Fox One
YouTube TV is pointing subscribers to the newly-launched Fox One app as a temporary solution.

- FS1
- FS2
- Big Ten Network
- Fox Weather
- Fox Business
- Fox Deportes
- FOX SOUL
- LiveNOW from FOX

It also offers many programs on-demand.
$19.99
Fox One is $19.99/month, or you can choose the annual plan for $199.99/year.
You can bundle Fox One with Fox Nation for $24.99/month or $239.88/year.
Other Multichannel Options to Stream FOX
Besides YouTube TV, there are 4 other multichannel streaming services that offer the full FOX channel in 2025.
Watching FOX with DIRECTV
DIRECTV is a great live TV option with several different channel packages. In fact, DIRECTV offers more channels than any other live streamer. FOX is available on the following packages: MyNews ($39.99), MySports ($69.99), Entertainment ($86.99), Choice ($114.99) Ultimate ($129.99) and Premier ($169.99).
You’ll get an unlimited DVR, unlimited streams at home, and a very friendly user interface. It’s Streaming Smarter’s top choice for first-time cord-cutters.

Watching FOX with Sling TV
Sling TV is a perfect choice for FOX as long as you live in an area where it’s available. Choose the Sling Blue or Orange + Blue package to access FOX.
One trick to watch out for is that FOX is only available with Sling in the following markets:
- Atlanta
- Austin
- Chicago
- Dallas/Fort Worth
- Detroit
- Gainesville
- Houston
- Los Angeles
- Milwaukee
- Minneapolis/St. Paul
- New York
- Orlando/Daytona/Melbourne
- Philadelphia
- Phoenix
- San Francisco/Oakland/San Jose
- Tampa/St. Petersburg
- Washington, D.C.
If you don’t live near one of those markets, you’d need an antenna or another provider for FOX.

Watching FOX with Fubo
We don’t normally recommend Fubo because its price is outrageous compared to its competitors. The channel lineup has some giant holes. Still, you can get your local FOX station with the following packages: Pro ($100.98) and Elite ($110.98).
$100.98/mo. $70.99/mo.
Watching FOX with Hulu + Live TV
Hulu + Live TV might be the best value in live TV streaming. Not only do you get a generous channel lineup, you also get free Disney+, ESPN+, and Hulu on-demand. It’s a great package for families. Many users complain about the clunky interface. Still, it’s a ton of entertainment for a fair price and you will be able to stream FOX. Hulu on-demand also offers a good variety of FOX shows.
$82.99/mo.

Live TV Streaming Services That Do Not Carry FOX
Philo and Frndly TV do not carry FOX.
Conclusion and Recommendations
The Streaming Smarter staff believes YouTube TV has fallen behind its peers in recent years. Hulu + Live TV gives you 3 great free streaming services at no additional cost. DIRECTV has better prices, better channel packages, and far more regional sports networks. I’ve used Sling TV as one of the best budget streaming options for the football season the last two years.
I fully believe this carriage dispute will be ended quickly. Fox is too ratings-sensitive to give up on over 5 million potential viewers every month. YouTube TV definitely has deep pockets. The concern is that this will result in higher prices, but YouTube TV is already too expensive considering you don’t get the extras you get with its competitors.
This is the perfect time to try DIRECTV free for 5 days. I think it’s superior to YouTube TV in almost every area.
