AMC Networks reported 10.4 million subscribers to end 2025, which means they added zero subscribers from the same point the year prior. That number is spread across all the streamers the company operates: AMC+, Shudder, IFC Films Unlimited, Sundance Now, All Reality, ALLBLK, HIDIVE, and Acorn TV.
Should You Subscribe to AMC+ at This Price?
I’ve used AMC+ extensively in the past, but always with a code that allows me to view for free. AMC+ is worth it if you’re a horror fan. The Shudder library is outstanding. I don’t really love horror flicks, but their documentary series are so good.
- Aliens Expanded – the nearly 5-hour documentary about the making of James Cameron’s 1986 sci-fi classic,
- King on Screen – a deep-dive into the films made from Stephen King stories
- Leap of Faith: William Friedkin on The Exorcist – a vivid verbal history of the horror classic from the prickly director, himself.
- Horror’s Greatest – A 10-episode series spotlighting some deep cuts of popular horror subgenres
- Cursed Filmsย – 10 episodes going behind the scenes to tell the stories of iconic horror films and the awful things that happened to the people involved. (The “Twilight Zone” episode is unbelievable and John Landis should be in jail.)

The AMC+ movie selection is a grab-bag with some occasional gems. Right now, you can watch “True Lies,” “Silence of the Lambs,” “The Thing,” “Remember the Titans,” “O Brother, Where Art Thou,” “Fast Times at Ridgemont High,” “Raising Arizona,” “Apollo 13,” “Major League,” “Man on Fire,” “The Terminator,” “The Breakfast Club,” “Cast Away,” “Beverly Hills Cop,” “Jurassic Park,” “Speed,” and more.
For TV, you have “Gangs of London,” “Mad Men,” “Dark Winds,” “Interview with the Vampire,” “Hell on Wheels,” “Mayfair Witches,” “Orphan Black,” and several “Walking Dead” spinoffs.
As a movie or general entertainment streamer, the service definitely puts the “C+” in “AMC+.” But for horror fans, the curated thrills of Shudder make it worth the extra $2 above a standalone Shudder subscription. For that reason, I recommend waiting until October for a scary movie binge.
