DIRECTV Adds MeTV and Heroes & Icons to Budget MyEntertainment Lineup
DIRECTV has been on a hot streak for bargain hunters lately. The service’s budget-friendly MyEntertainment package just added two more channels: MeTV and Heroes & Icons (H&I). That means you get 57 channels plus free Disney+, Hulu, and HBO Max for just $34.99.
$19.99/mo.+
MeTV was the 18th most-watched channel in 2024. It offers up classics likeย “M*A*S*H,” “The Andy Griffith Show,” “All in the Family,” “Perry Mason,” “Carol Burnett,” “Looney Tunes” and “Merrie Melodies”ย animation.
Heroes & Icons is another popular rerun channel, bringing you shows like “NCIS,” “Walker: Texas Ranger,” “Nash Bridges,” “The A-Team,” “MacGyver,” “Hawaii Five-O, “Batman,” “Wonder Woman,” and all five live-action originalย “Star Trek”ย TV series.
These channels are owned by Weigel Broadcasting, a company that recently cut a deal to provide MeTV Toons to DIRECTV’s MyKids pack. These channels also recently joined Fubo.
The value of the MyEntertainment package is pretty remarkable now. It’s a strong package of entertainment and news. The inclusion of free Disney+, Hulu, and HBO Max means there’s always something to watch. You do lose out on local channels, but that can be fixed with the addition of an antenna. And there are no sports, but you could always flex up to a stronger channel package when your favorite team is playing, then flex down to MyEntertainment in the offseason.
You can try DIRECTV free for 5 days with no obligation. It’s one of our favorites here at Streaming Smarter and it’s a great choice for first-time cord-cutters. The addition of channel numbers (most streaming services don’t have those) make it easy to navigate for older users.
