Fox One is Now Streaming – Here’s Your First Look

Fox One went live today and, boy, is it aggressive on the Fox News content.

Whether you choose to subscribe to the new streaming service or just log in with your live TV provider credentials, the first screen blasts you in the face with Fox News nearly everywhere you click.

In the “Latest For You” section, the first five items are Fox News shows, followed by two LIV Golf replays, an IndyCar event from Portland, “COPS,” “The Floor,” “MasterChef,” “Gordon Ramsay’s Secret Service,” and a FOX show called “The Snake.”

As you click around, you see Fox News programming at every turn, reminding us how grateful we should be to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Donald J. Trump. Gross.

What Can You Watch on Fox One?

Fox One main page

On the main page, you’ll have access to live Fox-affiliated channels, along with some nifty multiview options:

  • FS1 + FS2
  • Fox News Channel + Fox Business
  • Fox News + Fox Business + Fox Weather + LiveNOW from FOX
  • FS1 + FS2 + Big Ten Network

Click into the Live section and you’ll see a collection of real and virtual channels:

  • Your local FOX affiliate
  • Fox News Channel
  • FS1
  • FS2
  • Big Ten Network
  • Fox Weather
  • Fox Business
  • Fox Deportes
  • TMZ
  • FOX SOUL
  • The Masked Singer
  • LiveNOW from FOX
  • Fox Faith
  • FOX News Radio

The on-demand section allows you to access nearly every show currently airing on these networks. For FOX, you can access hits like “Family Guy,” “The Masked Singer,” “The Simpsons,” all the Gordon Ramsay shows, and President Biden’s farewell address for some reason.

One unfortunate glitch on Day One, if you click into a show like “The Simpsons,” you’ll see every episode from the current season, but scrolling back to older seasons may only offer one or two episodes. In some seasons, you’ll see zero available episodes with the error message: “On the Bench! The episodes are currently warming up. Stay tuned! Add the show to your favorites to record upcoming episodes.”

On the main page, you can scroll down to see a “FOX Voices” section, so you can click on your favorite TV blowhard and see select clips or full episodes of their shows.

What Sports Can You Watch on Fox One?

Presuming you can wade through all the episodes of “The January 6 Jamboree Hour,” “Gerrymandering For Fun and Profit,” and “Scary Minority of the Week,” you’ll be able to watch any games or sports shows that air on FOX, FS1, FS2, or Big Ten Network.

They don’t have a dedicated sports section on the main page because this is not a proper streaming service. It’s 24 fascists in a trench coat.

Here are the sports and sports shows I noticed while scrolling through:

  • NFL
  • MLB
  • MLS
  • NCAA football
  • Horse racing
  • Fishing
  • NCAA Field hockey
  • NCAA Soccer
  • IndyCar
  • NCAA Women’s volleyball
  • LIV Golf
  • “The Herd with Colin Cowherd”
  • “Kevin Harvick’s Happy Hour”

The user interface needs some work. In some cases, you see the colleges listed, but it’s unclear which sport it is until you click through. In another case of women’s international soccer, the thumbnail showed the countries, but when you click through to watch, it lists the program as “TBD vs. TBD.”

Should You Sign Up for Fox One?

Dear God, no.

FOX, FS1, FS2, and Big Ten Network may be necessary evils if you want sports or animated sitcoms, but there are better ways to get them. Consider an antenna and enjoy your local FOX station for free.

Or choose a live TV provider like DIRECTV or Hulu + Live TV if you need the sports channels.

Fox One is so intent on bashing you over the head with its particular brand of smarmy, disingenuous “news,” it’s impossible to enjoy unless you’re the kind of person who parades around Charlottesville with a lit tiki torch. And if you are that kind of person, please consider swallowing a bag of quick-dry cement. RFK Jr swears by the stuff.
