Fox One Launches Aug. 21 – Here’s Everything We Know
Today, Fox CEO Lachlan Murdoch announced the launch date and pricing for his company’s direct-to-consumer streaming product, Fox One. It launches August 21 and the base plan will be $19.99.
$19.99
What Can You Watch on Fox One?
The service gives you access to all the live channels owned by Fox:
- FOX News
- FOX Business
- FOX Weather
- FS1
- FS2
- Big Ten Network
- FOX Deportes
- FOX local stations and network programming
Can You Bundle Fox One and Fox Nation?
Yes, there will be a bundle with Fox Nation for $24.99. On its own, Fox Nation is $7.99/month, so there’s a slight discount.
There will also be a bundle option with B1G+, but the price was not announced.
The company hinted future bundles may be available with other streamers.
Can You Watch Fox One Without Paying for it?
If you have another service provider that carries FOX (like DIRECTV or Hulu + Live TV), you’ll be able to log in by authenticating your live TV subscription, so you can stream through the Fox One platform instead of your live TV provider.
The company did not announce if there would be a free trial. It seems unlikely.
Will Fox One Have Exclusive Content?
At launch, Fox One won’t have anything exclusive to the platform. It’s literally just a portal for you to watch content from the Fox-owned properties. It sounds like there won’t be additional content. That could change over time.
Fox’s exclusive streaming content lives on Fox Nation.
Will Fox One Have a DVR or On-Demand?
We don’t know that yet. It seems certain Fox News content would be available on-demand.
As for sports or entertainment content, that may depend on what rights Fox has negotiated. Right now, a lot of Fox’s entertainment content goes to Hulu, and if it were available on Fox One, that would seem like a conflict. There may be a limited window when previously aired content is available.
When Will Rupert Murdoch Die?
Probably never. The Dark Side is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be… unnatural.
Is Fox One Worth It?
If you’re an elderly person who loves mainlining right-wing conspiracy theories and remaining oblivious to how the Trump administration is ruining things for you, your grandchildren, and generations to come, sure. Your $19.99/month will support the erosion of democracy and keep you safe in an echo chamber of misinformation.
