Fubo Adds Punch to Sports Lineup with DAZN Partnership

Sports fans who choose Fubo as their live TV provider are getting a new perk today. Thanks to a new deal with sports streamer DAZN, Fubo will offer DAZN’s exclusive boxing and MMA events through the launch of a new linear channel, DAZN1.

Fubo subscribers will also be able to sign up for DAZN’s live Pay-Per-View events and watch within the Fubo interface.

Fubo customers can purchase DAZN1 as a stand-alone subscription or as an add-on to Fubo’s live TV package. Pricing has not been announced, but Streaming Smarter has contacted Fubo for clarification.

“Adding DAZN’s unmatched fight content enhances our sports entertainment lineup while offering customers greater flexibility,” said David Gandler, co-founder and CEO of Fubo.

DAZN is an essential sports streamer in many parts of the world, but its U.S. sports package is very thin, mostly offering MMA and boxing. DAZN normally costs $29.99/month unless you sign up for a full year.

I don’t recommend Fubo as a live TV option because its price is not competitive, considering the channels you get. It only has 60 of the top 100 TV channels (and only 11 of the 22 most-watched channels). Fubo costs a minimum of $100.98/month after a first-month promotional price. Fubo’s advertising doesn’t reflect this price because there’s a hidden regional sports fee that only appears on the checkout page.

Overall, this is a nice addition to Fubo, especially for the niche sports fans who may favor it over other popular streamers like DIRECTV, and Hulu + Live TV. But I doubt anyone will choose Fubo just because of this addition.
