How to Save 15% on Your Netflix Subscription
Netflix has become the top streaming service thanks to its mix of buzzworthy originals and great movies and TV shows from other studios. There’s always something worth watching as long as you’re willing to scroll. But because Netflix has become so popular, the company never discounts its services. There is a sneaky workaround, however.
If you go to gift card exchange websites like GCX, you can buy digital gift cards that other people are reselling. Right now, you can buy gift cards at more than a 15% discount. Use this referral link and you’ll get a $5 credit to make your first purchase.
Get $5 credit
Once you have your gift card, log into Netflix, click your user icon and select Account. Then click Add payment method. Then click Redeem Gift or Promo Code. Paste the code from GCX into the box and hit Redeem.
Once you’ve loaded the gift card into your account, Netflix will draw down the gift card balance before it switches back to your primary payment method.
I always make sure I have gift cards loaded in my Netflix account. Since I have the Standard plan ($17.99), I load in $100 gift cards and I get more than 5 months at a discount.
Since the GCX cards are at a 15.5% discount right now, I’m getting my Netflix for the equivalent of $15.20/month.
GCX can also give you Amazon gift cards at 8.2% off (use it for Prime Video or any add-ons like Max, Paramount+, Apple TV+, or more). Or save 13.5% off Hulu subscriptions. Right now, the site is sold out of Paramount+ and Sling TV gift cards, but if you check back, you can save when those cards are available.
I know 15% doesn’t seem like a huge discount, but my Netflix will cost over $215/year if I pay face value, while it’s about $182 if I use the gift card trick.
