LA Kings Sticking with FanDuel Sports Network Next Season

FanDuel Sports Network may be unraveling in a hurry, but they’ll have at least one team on their side next season. Sports Business Journal reports the Los Angeles Kings will remain on FanDuel Sports Network West in the 2026-27 season, including the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

FanDuel Sports Network is televising and streaming 68 regular season Kings games during the 2025-26 season.

The LA Angels bought out ownership of FanDuel Sports Network West, so fans may not notice much difference. It’s possible the name could change at some point, but things may otherwise stay the same.

Regional Sports Scramble

Sports teams across MLB, NHL, and NBA have been making huge changes as their once reliable revenue is drying up. While entertainment companies are willing to pay crazy sums for national packages, the regional picture is far messier.

Small market teams don’t have the leverage to charge the same as their big city peers. Live TV services balk at having to pay extra for limited channels that only have value a few dozen days a year. YouTube TV and Hulu + Live TV dropped Monumental Sports. Only DIRECTV and Fubo make efforts to carry a majority of regional sports networks. Some teams like the New Orleans Pelicans simply gave up and started airing all their games for free over-the-air.

All this chaos is frustrating fans. Some surveys have suggested nearly half of all fans struggle with finding where their favorite team is playing. Leagues are paying attention, and there are rumblings we may see more unification in the years to come.
