Fubo Review: A Sports-First Live TV Streaming Service in 2025

Streaming Smarter says: If you’re a sports fan, Fubo may be just the live TV streaming service you’ve been looking for. It’s the least expensive way to watch the FanDuel regional sports channels alongside cable favorites like ESPN and FS1. While Fubo has some great features, I’d recommend DIRECTV STREAM as the superior option in most cases.
Value 2/5
Fubo is one of the most expensive ways to stream live TV.
Channels 2/5
Fubo is missing the Warner Bros. Discovery channels, which will be a dealbreaker for most people.
Experience 4/5
The 4-screen multiview on Apple TV is great, but frequent crashes are frustrating.

Fubo Pros and Cons
Pros
Cons
What Does Fubo Cost?
Fubo’s front-facing prices don’t always reflect the full amount you’ll pay. The Pro lineup is $100.98 per month and Elite is $110.98. That’s because Pro and Elite have a $16 regional sports fee that doesn’t appear until you get to the check out page.
You’ll often find special offers for your first month with Fubo.
Can You Get a Discount on Fubo?
Yes – the first month of Fubo carries a nice discount for new subscribers.
Current Fubo Discounts
- $30 off your first month of Pro or Elite
Can You Watch Fubo for Free?
Yes! Get started with a free trial of any Fubo package. It’s the best way to get a feel for the platform, set up your favorite channels, and try the DVR. Cancel before the trial is over and you won’t be charged. (The length of the trial varies throughout the year, usually between 1-5 days.)
If you cancel Fubo, you can still watch 170+ free ad-supported channels and watch on-demand content with Fubo Free. Fubo says this service is available on “select devices and to select former Fubo subscribers who have expired from a paying subscription or free trial.”
What Channels Are Available on Fubo?
The intro level Pro plan provides several of the most important cable channels like MSNBC, Fox News, Ion, Hallmark Channel, USA Network, GRIT, Bravo, and FX. It also includes many regional sports networks.
The Elite plan includes many add-on packages, so you’ll get more news, sports, and entertainment. Notable channels include Great American Faith & Living, Great American Adventures, MTV2, CNBC World, and Sony Movie Channel.
What Local Channels Are on Fubo?
Fubo includes ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, and CW. It’s a good choice if you need local news, weather and sports.
What Sports Channels Are on Fubo?
Fubo prides itself on sports. When you sign up, you’ll be able to watch Fox Sports 1, ESPN, CBS Sports Network, Big Ten Network, Golf Channel, SPEEDVISION, Perfect Game TV, PFL, GLORY Kickboxing, and Origin Sports Network, among others.
Fubo has a strong lineup of regional sports networks. You’ll get most of these channels including the hard-to-find FanDuel Sports Networks, Altitude Sports, all 4 NBC Sports regionals, Chicago Sports Network, Marquee Sports Network, and more. Fubo does not offer SportsNet LA, SportsNet, SNY, or Monumental Sports Network.
Fubo does a good job providing the hard-to-stream channels that carry regional broadcasts of NBA teams like those for the Dallas Mavericks, New Orleans Pelicans, Phoenix Suns, Portland Trail Blazers, and Utah Jazz.
The Sports Lite add-on ($9.99) brings you NBA TV, NHL Network, MLB Network, Tennis Channel, ESPNU, and ESPNEWS.
Choose Sports Plus ($10.99) for all the Sports Lite channels plus NFL RedZone, MLB Strike Zone, Racing America, Sportsgrid, UNBEATEN, World Poker Tour, Next Level Sports, and more.
International Sports Plus ($6.99) brings you FOX Deportes, ESPN Deportes, GolTV (Spanish and English), FOX Soccer Plus, Willow TV, and more.
Basketball fans can add NBA League Pass for $16.99/month.
MLB.TV is available for baseball fans at $29.99/month.
Can You Watch Regional Sports Networks with Fubo?
Yes! Fubo has 27 regional sports networks including the full FanDuel lineup. While you will be able to watch most teams with Fubo, you can’t watch the local broadcasts for Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Mets, Los Angeles Lakers, Washington Wizards, Dallas Stars, or Washington Capitals.
Does Fubo offer 4K Broadcasts?
Yes, 4K is included in all levels. Fubo provides a handy calendar of upcoming 4K events.
Does Fubo Require a Contract?
You can subscribe to Fubo one month at a time. Cancel anytime at no penalty.
Occasionally, Fubo may offer better rates if you sign up for a multi-month contract. These offers come and go at Fubo’s discretion.

What Is the Best Fubo Alternative?
If you’re considering Fubo, you can find better value with most other live TV streamers. Consider these alternatives.
Who Should Subscribe to Fubo?
I recommend Fubo for cord-cutters who don’t mind paying extra for international sports. Fubo has some sports channels you won’t find elsewhere.
However, almost all viewers would be better served with another service. Fubo is missing too many important channels. DIRECTV STREAM has a more complete channel package and offers more regional sports networks. Hulu + Live TV has a good overall package and adds more exclusive sports through free ESPN+. Sling TV is better for bargain hunters.
It’s disappointing Fubo isn’t a better value. Cord-cutters are better served when there are lots of great options fighting for viewers. Over the years, Fubo has lost channels without lowering prices. I think it’s worth sampling Fubo with the free trial, but I recommend other services to friends.
