Why Now is the Perfect Time to Cancel Hulu
Disney is having a rough few years, but this past week has been especially bad. It caved to conservatives by briefly pulling Jimmy Kimmel off the air. Waves of people responded by cancelling their Disney+ and Hulu subscriptions. Then on the same day Disney reinstated Kimmel, they announced prices were going up on nearly all their streaming products.
Truly a masterclass in calamity.
But fear not, streaming friends. If you didn’t cancel Hulu yet, you may as well let ‘er rip before the price increase.
If you can live without Hulu for a few weeks, you’ll be able to take advantage of the streamer’s annual Black Friday deal. Historically, we’ve been able to get access to a year of Hulu for 99 cents/month or $2.99/month. We have every reason to believe Disney will offer that deal again sometime around Nov. 28.
$9.99/mo.
However…
While we believe the Black Friday deal will arrive as usual, there is a curveball coming. Remember that Disney is going to shut down Hulu in 2026. All the content will roll into Disney+.
If Hulu only has a few months left to live, would Disney offer up 12 months of discounts?
More likely, we may see some kind of offer for the Disney+ Hulu bundle (currently called “Duo”). Starting next month, the price for that will be $12.99 – probably the price Disney will charge for the unified Disney+ after the merge. If a Black Friday deal is offered, it will likely be a discount on that.

$10.99/mo.
